At MA Mohideen Attorneys we are dedicated to providing expert legal representation and guidance that is compliant with the principles of Islamic law. We were first established with the goal of bringing these principles into effect in a manner that is valid and enforceable in South Africa.
Our services are designed to be compliant with the Shariah Standards published from time to time by the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI). Furthermore, we also will work alongside a recognised Islamic Organisation to ensure your matter is kept Shariah compliant.
As a Muslim community we make up approximately 3% of the total population in South Africa, which is roughly 2 million people. As Muslims, we are bound to follow Islamic law (“Shariah”) before the laws of man. However, it can be difficult to reconcile these laws with South African law, which remains the sovereign law of the land.
Our Sole Practitioner, Aadil Mohideen, believes that a solution exists in providing legal services that are congruent with the principles of Islamic law yet remain valid and enforceable in South Africa. Aadil served the majority of his practical vocational training in one of South Africa's national law firms and was trained to provide expert advice on commercial, corporate and banking law matters.
